You work with me, not an agency. There is no account manager standing between you and the person writing the code, so when you ask “why does it work this way?” the answer comes from the person who decided it. On bigger projects I bring in a small, trusted team, and either way the result is on me.
I recommend the tools that fit your business, not the ones that are trendy. I have a set I trust and reach for most of the time, but I switch when a project calls for it. One client wanted to run and grow their platform without a developer afterward, so I built it on a no-code tool instead. I will also tell you when the smart move is to buy an existing tool rather than build one, and exactly which tool to buy. The goal is what works for you, not what pads an invoice.
What I care about most has nothing to do with code. It is understanding the result you actually need before anything gets built, telling you plainly when the thing you asked for is not the thing that will help, and quoting a number I can stand behind. If a project should not be built at all, the most valuable thing I can do is say so early.
